Couldn't have had a better camp host.
Perfect location. Tons of fish
I would normally give this 5 stars but this last summer was a terrible experience. We arrived and found our camp ground covered in fallen trees. The site online claimed it had enough room for 6 to 12 people. Luckily everyone backed out and it was just my son and I. There was nowhere to pitch a tent. We wondered around and finally found a place on a slight incline between two trees. I didn't pack any water to clean and wash up because they normally have potable water. Come to find out that didn't work either. We had to stretch or drinking water for 3 days to clean up and wash or hands with. This wouldn't have been all bad had there been an email sent to those with reservations stating the problems they were having. I also payed $20 a day for a pretty terrible experience. I asked for a discount or refund and was told no.
Pulled the trigger on this campground and was definitely not disappointed! Beautiful lake, beautiful campsite, beautiful weather. Not to mention having spots for parking, tent platforms, and a very clean and helpful camp host were also great additions! Highly recommended!
We stayed in spot 16, it was the last spot available for the weekend of the eclipse and I worried there was some reason why - BUT I would argue it's one of the best spots on the grounds. It's not too close to anyone else, has a picnic table and many great spots for pitching a tent. You can even walk a bit out into the woods and camp from this spot if you really wanted some seclusion. It's pretty close to a restroom, but the nothing-fancy-glorified-hole-in the-ground is the closest one. It'd be nice if it at least had a sink in there to wash hands but not a huge deal. A bit of a further walk will take you to the bathroom with showers and sinks. There is a dumpster fairly close as well which was nice. The couple who take care of the grounds were very helpful. The lake is close by, fishing from shore is a bit of an issue though - lots of snagged lines and lost hooks and such. Next time I'm bringing kayaks or renting canoes from Kamas to fish from. The only reason it's not a five star is because the tent pad was loose sand so the stakes didn't want to stay down on the pop up tent our friend had (Kind of an issue in the wind!). Other than that it was perfect.
Going back tomorrow.
Great fishing. I had one of the best times in my life there.
